About the Show:
It’s 1956 and The Susan B. Anthony Society for the Sisters of Gertrude Stein are having their annual quiche breakfast. As the assembled “widows” await the announcement of the society’s prize-winning quiche, the atomic bomb sirens sound! Has the Communist threat come to pass? How will the “widows” respond as their idyllic town and lifestyle faces attacks? Winner of the 2012 NYC International Fringe Festival as Best Overall Production, 5 Lesbians Eating A Quiche is a tasty recipe of hysterical laughs, sexual innuendoes, unsuccessful repressions, and delicious discoveries.
Available Roles (The Lake Worth Playhouse encourages people of all races, abilities, and genders to audition for the roles they most identify with.):
The play calls for 5 female-presenting performers of any adult age, race, or ethnicity. Your comedic chops are important, but so is your sense of sincerity and heart in your portrayal of the character. Expect to heavily interact with the audience!
Lulie Stanwyck: President of the Susan B. Anthony Society. The very model of a perfect 1950’s woman in speech, manner, and dress. And yet she’s hiding a secret that might shatter the sisterhood.
Wren Robin: Events Chairwoman. Excitable, eager, and maybe a little bit ditzy, but would do anything for the Society, in a secret relationship with Dale Prist.
Ginny Cadbury: Secretary. The newest member of the Society. Eager to impress. English accent. Secretly infatuated with Vern Schultz.
Dale Prist: Historian. Passionate about Society’s history. Hiding a strange family tragedy. Youngest member of the group. In a secret relationship with Wren Robin.
Veronica “Vern” Schultz: Building and Grounds Chairman. Handy, take charge, kind of butch, and proud of it. Likes to openly flirt with Ginny Cadbury.
