Audition Format:
- Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. No monologue preparation is required.
About the Show:
The Effect unfolds inside a clinical trial where hearts and minds are placed under observation. As two strangers connect in unexpected ways, science begins to blur with emotion, and certainty gives way to longing. With humor, tenderness, and urgency, the play asks whether love is something we choose—or something that happens to us.
Available Roles (The Lake Worth Playhouse encourages people of all races, abilities, and genders to audition for the roles they most identify with.):
Seeking a diverse cast. Actors of all ethnicities are encouraged to audition.
Connie Hall – Late 20s–early 30s. Intelligent, guarded, and emotionally complex.
Tristan Frey – Late 20s–early 30s. Charismatic, impulsive, and open-hearted.
Dr. Lorna James – 40s–50s. A senior clinician; calm, principled, and precise.
Dr. Toby Sealey – 30s–40s. A research doctor; confident, ambitious, and ethically flexible.
Online submissions are on a case-by-case basis.

- This is a non-paid production.
- This production contains adult themes and language.
- The Effect will be staged in an intimate Black Box setting.
- Please bring a current headshot and résumé if available.
- Conflicts should be listed at the time of audition.
