ASSISTANT TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

We are seeking an Assistant Technical Director & Lead Carpenter to join our production team. This position plays a crucial role in executing the technical and scenic elements of our productions. Working closely with the Technical Director and other production staff, the ideal candidate will have strong carpentry skills, experience in scenic construction, and a commitment to safety and teamwork. Drafting experience is also essential, as the role will require the creation and interpretation of technical drawings for set construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Technical Director in overseeing scenic construction, load-in, and strike.
  • Lead the carpentry team in building, installing, and maintaining scenic elements.
  • Create and interpret drafting plans for scenic elements using CAD software or hand drafting.
  • Ensure all set pieces meet safety standards and production needs.
  • Collaborate with designers, directors, and other production staff to bring creative visions to life.
  • Train and supervise volunteers and crew members in safe construction and tool usage.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop and stage environment.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in scenic carpentry and technical theater.
  • Proficiency in drafting software (AutoCAD, Vectorworks) or hand drafting.
  • Ability to read and create technical drawings.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of shop tools, materials, and theatrical rigging.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and work at heights.
  • Prior experience in community or professional theater preferred.

PART-TIME BOX OFFICE ATTENDANT

The Lake Worth Playhouse is seeking part-time Box Office Attendants. This role will focus on providing exemplary customer service to all patrons of the Lake Worth Playhouse by performing individual ticket sales and customer assistance both over the phone and in person. 

Successful candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and occasional holidays and be on-call as necessary.  Box Office Attendants must be able to stand for extended periods of time and move around the theatre as needed.
