In The Heights Auditions
Audition Dates: Monday and Tuesday, May 11 & 12, from 7:00 – 10:30 pm
7:00 pm – 8:15 pm: Dance Call (ALL Auditioners) – Dance call begins at 7:00 pm; please attend if you are registered for a vocal audition
8:15 pm – 10:30 pm: Singing Auditions – Please register for vocal audition slots; vocal auditions begin at 8:15 pm on both Monday and Tuesday
Callbacks (by invitation): Wednesday, May 13 & Thursday, May 14 – Principal callbacks with sides and vocal selections
from the show.

Production Dates: July 17 – August 2, 2026 (12 Performances Total)

Where: The Lake Worth Playhouse – 713 Lake Ave, Lake Worth Beach, Florida 33460
Rehearsals: Rehearsals begin mid May 2026 and continue until opening in Mid-July
Typical schedule: Monday – Friday evenings (7:00pm – 10:00pm); as well as some Sundays for some music vocal rehearsals. Tech week will include an 8 hour rehearsal on Saturday July 11 and Sunday July 12.

Audition Requirements:
– ALL auditioners are expected to participate in the dance call at the start of the evening, and should be prepared to do so.
– Prepare 32 bars of a song in the style of the show (strongly encouraged to sing from the show, especially if auditioning for a specific role).
– An accompanist will be provided. Please bring clearly marked sheet music in the correct key. A backing track option is also available; if using a track, it must be cued properly and ready to use on your device (Bluetooth speaker will be provided).
– Selected vocal cuts from the show will be made available in advance to help auditioners prepare.
About the Show:
Set in the vibrant neighborhood of Washington Heights, In the Heights tells the story of a community on the brink of change. Full of dynamic music and dance blending hip-hop, salsa, meringue, and soul, the show explores identity, family, home, and what it means to belong.
Casting:
Seeking a diverse, high-energy cast of strong singers, actors, and movers- principals and ensemble.
All roles are open. This production celebrates Latin communities and culture. We aim to cast authentically and respectfully.
Principal Roles Include:
Usnavi (24): A charismatic bodega owner and dreamer; owner of the De La Vega Bodega
Nina Rosario (19): First in her family to go to college; freshman at Stanford
Benny (24): Ambitious and charming; employee of Rosario Car Service
Vanessa (19): Works at the hair salon, but aspiring to bigger and better things
Abuela Claudia (60s): The heart of the neighborhood; raised Usnavi but not blood-related
Kevin Rosario (40s): Nina’s father; owner of Rosario car service
Camila Rosario (40s): Nina’s mother; co-owner of Rosario’s car service
Sonny (late teens/ early 20s): Usnavi’s cousin
Daniela (30s): Owner of Daniela’s Unisex Salon
Carla (20s): Salon worker, naïve
Piragua Guy (30s): Street vendor who scrapes piraguas from his block of ice
Graffiti Pete (late teens/ early 20s): an artist with spray paint
